John Brawley has been a freelance cinematographer since 2000, with 5 years prior to that working at a camera rental company.

As a cinematographer he has photographed many broadcast, national TVC and cinema campaigns, both in Australia and the US, NZ, Vietnam and the UK with recent commercial clients including McDonalds, Canon, Gillette, the Australian Defense Force, I Primus and the Melbourne Fashion Festival. In the past year he has shot two nationally broadcast TV shows and a Film Victoria funded TV comedy pilot, “Lowdown”.

With numerous Film Victoria and AFC short film credits, he won an early AFI nomination for his first 35mm short “Bird In The Wire” and a Tropfest best cinematography award for “Like It Is” which he also co-produced.

John competed his MA in cinematography at AFTRS in 2007

John recently shot his first US feature in LA, The Perfect Host directed by Nick Tomnay.

Lake Mungo is now represented by international sales agent Arclight Films.

fOUR has been nominated for an AFI and recently won the IF award for best film.
